MEET OUR PASTORS
James & Heather Coulter
James and Heather Coulter have served The Church for over 23 years in both pastoral and support roles such as music pastors, musical evangelists, university vocal instructors and clinicians at conferences, seminars, and workshops in the US and abroad. They have a love for people, a passion for the presence of God, and deep desire to see others grow in Christ. James and Heather have one daughter, Hannah, and a son, Christopher. All of them enjoy outdoor activities like camping, fishing, walking, playing soccer, and also love to relax with good books and great coffee.

Our Story
In the fall of 2020, Pastors James and Heather assumed the pastorate of the former Cornerstone Church. At that time, there had not been a service at the church since March of 2020 due to a pastoral change and COVID. Heather and James reformed the church as Hope Community Church with a desire to create a church family that impacts each other and the community for Jesus by loving God, growing together, and serving others.
OUr VISION
To be a diverse and welcoming church with a deep commitment to cultivating a sense of community and family.

To empower individuals to become wholehearted and mature followers of Christ, rooted in a Kingdom-focused ethos.

Marriage, Identity,
Freedom,
And Dignity
Identity and Sexuality:
We understand the challenges faced by those navigating same-sex attraction or struggles with gender identity. As a church, we affirm the authority of Scripture, which reveals God’s perfect design for humanity as having two - and only two - clearly distinct genders: male and female. Scripture also establishes clear boundaries for the expression of sexuality, which is both designed and intended to be fulfilled exclusively within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman.
Genesis 1:26-27; 2:18, 21-24; Leviticus 18:22; Psalm 139:13-14; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:5-8; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:9-10
Marriage:
Biblical marriage is a sacred covenant established by God, and is clearly defined throughout scripture as involving one man, one woman, and God Himself, who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This marriage covenant is designed and sustained by God alone. Therefore, we cannot endorse or recognize any redefinition of marriage, including same-sex unions or behavior, as these clearly fall outside of God's perfect will and design for us as people He deeply loves and seeks to redeem.
Genesis 1:27-28; 2:23, 24; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:8; 1 Corinthians 6:16; and Ephesians 5:31
True Freedom and Holiness:
We believe that true freedom is found only in Christ, who offers healing and restoration in every area of brokenness, including matters of sexuality and gender. It is out of genuine love for people and a commitment to Biblical truth that we encourage believers to pursue holiness in all aspects of life, including relationships, sexuality, and gender identity, trusting in God’s Word as our unchanging and trustworthy guide.
Matthew 8:16-17; Luke 4:18-21; John 8:31-36; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20 5:1; 6:1; Ephesians 4:22-24; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Hebrews 12:14; Psalm 119:105; Isaiah 40:8; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Dignity:
While we cannot endorse same-sex relationships, broken gender identities, or any redefinition of marriage, we wholeheartedly affirm the God-given dignity and worth of every individual. We are committed to treating everyone with the respect, care, and love they deserve as image-bearers of God. Our desire is for all people to find a church home where they can experience the love of a church family and the transformative power of God, exchanging their brokenness for the wholeness found only in Jesus. We believe Hope Community Church can be that place.
